Pitching Career
Dan Fyvie is pitching close to his Howell, Michigan home this year! He has signed with the Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti for the 2009 season. The Midwest Sliders are part of the 12-team Frontier League as it celebrates its 17th year as an independent professioal league. The League has a rich history.

The Sliders will play 45 home games at Oestrike Stadium on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.

"We believe in Dan's abilities," stated club president and director of personnel, Rob Hilliard, at Dan's signing. Tickets to watch Dan pitch throughout the season can be purchased online now.

Dan Fyvie began his professional pitching career in 2001 when he was drafted out of Fenton High School in Michigan by the Oakland A's. He spent his first five years with them until 2006 when a knee injury sidelined him.

After a series of ACL surgeries and a lengthy recovery, he began the 2007 season with the Kalamazoo Kings, another Frontier League team, but his stay was brief.

In June of 2007, he joined the Detroit Tiger's farm team, the West Michigan Whitecaps, managed by former Tiger, Tom Brookens. The Whitecaps claimed the Midwest League's championship in 2007.
